Meet James!

Born and raised in San Angelo, James Cochran brings a deep-rooted love for West Texas, agriculture, and helping others to his role at WeadCo Insurance. After earning his degree in Interdisciplinary Agriculture from Texas Tech University in 2022, James spent several years in Lubbock growing personally and professionally while serving the local community. He was heavily involved in the livestock industry, mentoring youth through their livestock projects and gaining valuable experience in leadership and client care.

Insurance had always caught James' eye, but it was the opportunity to join the WeadCo team that made the dream real. “After speaking with the team, I was certain this was something I would love to do while working alongside such elite individuals,” he shared. Now back in his hometown, James is excited to serve his community by providing reliable, compassionate protection for whatever life might throw their way.

His approach is simple but impactful: listen closely, offer solutions, and always act with kindness. James is known for being open-minded, kind, and eager to learn — qualities that make him a trusted partner for clients and a valuable asset to the WeadCo team.

When he’s not working, you’ll likely find James in the barn.  He owns and operates Cochran Livestock where he raises a small herd of sheep, building towards elite show sheep for youth to exhibit — a full-circle passion that reflects his heart for community and mentorship
